FAQ

  • Why take my child to a therapist?

Many people think that therapy is only for the severely mentally ill. This is not true. Anyone can benefit from seeing a therapist. Life is difficult even when things are going well. Talking to a therapist can make life a little less difficult to navigate. I am ready to help your child in this endeavor.

  • What will happen on the first visit?

Our first visit will be about getting to know you and your child. I will have specific questions about your child and your concerns. I will explain confidentiality and its limits. We will come to an agreement regarding the frequency of appointments and answer any questions you may have.

  • Do you take walk-ins?

No, I see clients by appointment only. Existing clients may call to set up additional appointments as my schedule allows.

  • How do I make an appointment?

If this is your first visit, please fill out the form found on the contact page. Once this form has been submitted you will be emailed our new client forms. When these are received, you will be contacted to schedule an appointment. It should take no more than three days. Or you may contact the office directly by calling 706-549-3606.

  • What if my child experiences an emotional crisis during non-business hours?

If you have a psychological or mental health emergency during non-working hours, please call 911, the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL) at 1-800-715-4225, or the Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255.
